В 5-м сезоне сериала «Блич» над Обществом душ вновь сгущаются тучи. Загадочный седовласый мутант Кария вместе со своими последователями прибывает к стенам города, чтобы захватить его и свергнуть синигами. Ичиго выясняет, что Кария когда-то был обычным человеком, но в результате неудачного эксперимента в НИИ синигами стал одним из первых «Связанных»: его сущность соединили с мощной сверхъестественной силой, дающей ему вечную жизнь.
