Foyle's War (2002 - 2013)

"The Foyle's War" series is a British historical detective show. It is set in 1940, during the height of World War II when Europe is engulfed in conflict. The island of England becomes a refuge for evacuated families fleeing Nazi Germany, as well as a haven for spies and secret agents of all kinds. Detective Christopher Foyle dreams of joining the front lines to defend his homeland. However, his exceptional abilities are needed more in the rear, where he fights a different kind of war - against thieves, murderers, and traitors.
