The production was shot at the Great Waters Golf Course, which forms part of Reynolds in Greensboro, Georgia. The whole course was closed for several days while filming took place.
Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon can, in fact, be heard singing "Islands in the Stream" as the end credits begin to roll.
The film's release has been rescheduled for 30 January 2025.

The project was acquired by Amazon Studios in July 2022.

The film was made available on Amazon Prime Video on 30 January 2025 and garnered mixed reviews from critics.
