Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born March 22, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Both of her parents worked in the medical field and it is claimed that she has had a humble southern upbringing, teaching her the value of life lessons and having consideration for others. She radiated achiever energy obtaining high grades in school, partaking in extracurricular activities such as cheerleading, and had a passion for books.
