Just after she sets the airport security guard alight, Andy grabs Charlie and runs; she cries out, "I didn't mean it, Daddy!" yet her lips do not move.
In the sequences where Rainbird is portraying "John, the friendly orderly", the eye-patch he adopts as part of the disguise is visible in some of the "John" scenes but missing in others. Also, on occasions the patch covers his left eye (notably during the blackout) and at other times it is over his right eye (for example, when he and Charlie are with the horses).
It is repeatedly stated that Andy cannot employ his mind-control abilities without putting his hands on his head; yet when he blinds the men in the shop, he activates those abilities while clutching Charlie.
During his initial visit to Charlie whilst in quarantine, Captain Hollister twice removes his code-key badge as he prepares to depart the room.

At the airport a soldier identifies himself as serving with the Special Forces — the Green Berets. He is shown holding the rank of Private First Class, although that specialised unit would normally require a sergeant or above.
In the barn sequence, the water tap is turned clockwise and then comes away from the water pipe; however, it should have been turned anti-clockwise.
In Charlie's first test, the technician must use a keycard to dash out of the room. You can see him use it and hear the doors rumble open. A second later the focus is on Charlie, and you can hear the doors rumble shut. Yet, as Rainbird observes, Charlie walks through the doors, which have somehow re-opened without a key.
In the closing credits, the term "Special Effects" is misspelt as "Speical Effects".
When Charlie demolishes The Shop's mansion, it’s easy to spot where the set was pre-cut to allow for a controlled destruction. Immediately after Charlie launches the second fireball into the house, the camera pans up to a burning man on the balcony — in that frame you can clearly make out the sections of the balcony prepared to give way. You can also see detonation cord wound around the pillars to cause them to break off at predetermined points.
An unmistakable stuntwoman can be seen standing on the small bridge during the scene featuring fireballs.
When she sets the barn alight, a glossy layer painted onto the horse stalls is plainly visible — seemingly applied to 'control' how the stalls flare up.
When Charlie blows up the cars at the Manders' farm, several of them already appear to be wrecked beforehand.
During several scenes in which Charlie fires fireballs at the mansion, the guide wires are plainly visible. Additionally, the explosion from one of the fireballs occurs before it even reaches the window.

When the tap is hurled across the barn it strikes the wall beside a stall belonging to a horse called Champ. The shot is mirrored — the name and lettering on the stall door appear backwards, as though the scene had been filmed through a mirror.
