Mr Burton stages an amateur production titled The Bishop's Candlesticks. This is likely a nod to a scene in Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, in which a convict (Jean Valjean) is given food and lodgings by a bishop and later absconds with the bishop's candlesticks.
