The Evil Dead goofs

In the film's opening, the screech of tyres on the unsurfaced track is out of sync with the on-screen action.

In the cellar, when the projector is switched on, blood can be seen dripping onto the centre of the lens in broad circles. Yet on the screen the blood appears to ooze down from the top of the lens rather than to be dripping onto the centre.

When Scotty first enters the cabin, it is distinctly dark inside, whilst it was daylight outside when he approached the house.

Scotty is depicted with the demon clawing the right-hand side of his face, yet the scratches are later visible on the left.

When Scott walks into the bathroom to check if anyone is hiding in the bath, his hair looks rather long. He tears the shower curtain open and then turns round as the demon attacks him. While he's being attacked, it's quite clear that he's recently had a haircut.

When Cheryl first becomes possessed, Ash, Linda and Shelly stand watching her. In one shot Shelly is positioned behind a chair; in the next the chair is toppled onto its side on the floor.

After Scott and Ash head down to the cellar and uncover a number of items, Ash begins to examine the Book of the Dead. If you watch carefully, the book's pages alter from shot to shot even though Ash doesn't turn them.

When Cheryl runs back onto the veranda after being raped by the tree, there are three veranda lights along the top of the cabin: one at each end and one directly above the door. As the "Evil" approaches Cheryl while she is trying to unlock the door, the light above the door is absent. After Cheryl manages to get back into the cabin and the "Evil" retreats into the woods, the light above the door has mysteriously reappeared.

When Ash stabs Linda with the Kandarian Dagger, she coughs up a great deal of blood over her face; later, when he secures her to the table with chains to dismember her, her face is clean.

After being attacked by the vines, Cheryl switches twice between wearing moccasins and going barefoot as she frantically attempts to get back into the cabin from the Evil Force that's pursuing her.

At one stage in the film, Ash's feet are seen crossing a bloodstained floor. Then, towards the end of the film, his feet are shown descending the steps to the cellar, and he is clearly wearing different footwear.

Linda's pendant appears different from one shot to the next while Ash prepares to use the chainsaw.

Shelly's socks change repeatedly throughout her dismemberment scene. At times she wears pink socks with a distinctive pattern, while at other moments they are plain dark cherry-coloured socks. Also, when Scott is cutting off her feet her jeans are pulled up nearly to her knees, but in the final shot they are down at her ankles and her feet are intact.

In the meltdown sequence you can see one zombie's head come off, but in the following shot it appears intact.

When the car was crossing the bridge, the rear passenger-side tyre punched through, but when they drove it free the rear driver's-side corner of the car rose and the front passenger-side dropped. That outcome is what would be expected if the rear driver's-side tyre had fallen through. In their situation, however, the rear passenger side should have lifted and the front driver's side ought to have dropped.

When the group arrive at the cabin, the rhythm of a chair chained to the verandah, rocking against the window, changes between cuts.

The film's producer, Rob Tapert, can briefly be glimpsed in the bushes as the car begins to cross the bridge. He is digitally removed from the Blu-ray release.

As the car drives onto the bridge at the film's opening, a white vehicle can be seen behind the trees on the left‑hand side, following it.

Lights can be seen throughout: on the forest floor while Cheryl is being chased, and fixed to the corners of the roof above the front verandah, among other places.

As Cheryl steps outside in her dressing gown, a screen depicting mist veiling the moon is visible in the top-right corner because it has a bluer hue than the surrounding background.

As the car approaches the cabin and the scene is being filmed from a rear tracking angle following the vehicle, several branches can be seen being pushed aside by the camera.

As Ash hurls the Book Of The Dead into the flames, Cheryl momentarily freezes (just before she drops the poker), and her image is mirrored. The bullet wound on her cheek and the bandage on her forehead are shown on the opposite side.

The large moon looming over the cabin is clearly a projected image; a square border is visible around it, noticeably lighter than the surrounding sky.

A wire can be faintly seen extracting the entrails from the zombies' throats.

The same shot of fog shrouding the moon is used again.

When the fight erupts after the recording is played, a tree branch comes flying through the lounge window (this window is to the left of the front door when viewed from the inside). Later, when Ash panics after his hand passes through the mirror, something streaks past the window and he fires through a pane of glass the branch has already shattered.

When the blood-filled light bulb bursts in the cellar, a wire with a clearly visible fairy light at its end can be seen.
