Interesting facts
Richard Dreyfuss's appearance here is his first shark film since his iconic turn as Hooper in Jaws (1975). That excludes his narration of the 2007 Shark Week television film Ocean of Fear. In the 2010 remake of Piranha he played Matt Boyd, a role that paid homage to his Matt Hooper character. The Piranha film series, it should be noted, is itself a spoof of Jaws.
