How Jim Henson brought Kermit the Frog into being and the story of his origins.
"This is the origin story for all of these characters," Howard comments about the film. "Kermit began as the fabric from his mother's old coat — material she was about to discard. For a long time they didn't even know he was a frog; they weren't sure what he was. He simply fitted Jim's hand, which allowed Jim to generate comical reactions, and the character could serve as an alter ego for him. Gradually, they settled on him being Kermit the Frog."
