This is the second film penned by Sylvester Stallone to star Jason Statham in the lead role. The first was Homefront (2013).
A Working Man has been adapted from Chuck Dixon's novel Levon's Trade. The Levon Cade series comprises twelve books.
Adapted from the first instalment of Chuck Dixon's Levon Cade series; Dixon is a comic-book writer.
Filming on this picture began immediately after principal photography for The Beekeeper (2024) concluded, with many members of the production crew remaining in England to film scenes for it.
Sylvester Stallone had originally planned to produce a television series adapted from Chuck Dixon's novels.
Jason Statham and Jason Flemyng have both appeared together in the films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), Snatch (2000) and Transporter 2 (2005).
Liam Neeson was initially in contention for the role of Levon Cade prior to Statham being cast.
Levon is seen wearing a shirt bearing the inscription "Pro 1:11". This almost certainly alludes to Proverbs 1:11 in the Bible, a verse warning against being led astray by those who intend to commit a crime or carry out an evil act.
While in production, the film was provisionally titled Levon's Trade.
