Several performers in this film previously appeared in writer–director Jeymes Samuel's Netflix film "The Harder They Fall" (2021): Lakieth Stanfield [Clarence/Thomas], RJ Cyler [Elijah] & Chase Dillon [Cabbage].
RJ Cyler, portraying Jim Beckwourth, references the Book of Clarence in the 2021 film "The Harder They Fall".
Several cast members in this film have also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or other Marvel-related productions: Benedict Cumberbatch [Benjamin] portrays Dr Strange; both James McAvoy [Pontius Pilot] & Omar Sy [Barabas] appear in the X‑Men films as Professor Xavier and Bishop respectively; Alfre Woodard [Virgin Mary] has had two separate Marvel-related parts — she was Black Mariah in "Luke Cage" and Miriam Sharpe in "Captain America: Civil War". Additionally, Tom Vaughan‑Lawlor played Ebony Maw in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
This marks the fourth occasion Benedict Cumberbatch and James McAvoy have appeared in the same film — after Starter for 10 (2006), Atonement (2007) and The Bubble (2022) — although in the latter Cumberbatch appears only as a digital cameo.
