When Schmidt and Jenko are in the attic of the fraternity house, they're holding a tablet with the camera feed playing. The tablet's audio is clearly audible on the camera recording, yet the status bar along the bottom plainly shows the device is muted. The same inconsistency occurs in another scene where a mobile phone is being used to send text messages — again, you can hear the clicking of the key presses despite the mute symbol being displayed.
At least once in the film a semi-automatic pistol is shown to "click" when it runs out of ammunition, which leads to one of the main characters failing to realise he has taken an empty pistol from a villain. Semi-automatic pistols don't "click" when they run dry. After the last round is fired the slide locks back and the trigger is rendered inoperable, so the firearm is unmistakably empty and the trigger cannot be pulled.
After discovering that his daughter Maya is the pupil Schmidt had sex with, Captain Dickson fires off a series of threatening text messages to his mobile. We shouldn't be able to hear them arrive, since the mobile is shown to be on silent.
