When Christine removes the mask from the Phantom's face, it is revealed that his scar extends into the lower part of his right cheek and that his right eyelid is slightly drooped. Yet earlier in the film, at no point do we see any trace of this scar on the exposed section of his face, nor is the drooping eyelid visible through the mask.
