How come she's not your girl friend? The way she acts around you, seems like she likes you.
Vince Delayo
What the hell would you know?
David Sandborn
Last Night, I could hear her through the walls, she was praying, she was asking for god's forgivness, for a secret, a secret she's been keeping, even from Max.
Vince Delayo

David Sandborn
No, no, no! I'm just getting started here. Poor Roxanne. She thought I was an angel. You can't kill an angel!
Max Truemont
A demon, maybe.
David Sandborn
Ah! What's a demon but an angel who fell? Like you're gonna fall, Max. Don't look so sad, killer. You're on the winning team now. No commandments. No guilt.
[change of scene]
David Sandborn
I was sent for those that are desperate...
Man
You want me to wake up?... You'll never wake up!
[groans]
Man
Piece of...
David Sandborn
...I come to them when they are weak. When their lives are hopeless. When those they love reject them.
[screams are heard]
David Sandborn
I come to them, whisper in their ear, and I can be very convincing.
Roxanne
[in a flashback] Max?
Max Truemont
Why David? Why all this?
David Sandborn
Casting for souls, Max. It's what I do.
Max Truemont
And me? What do I do?
David Sandborn
You're as weak as the rest them. So be a good boy, and put the gun to your head.
[whispering voices heard]
David Sandborn
Do it. Or hear my voice every moment of your life. It was a good game, Max.
