A fleeting shot features a Boeing 747-400 bearing Air France’s modern livery. Yet the scene is set in 1963, whereas the Boeing 747 was not unveiled until 1968 and did not enter commercial service until 1970. In addition, Air France did not adopt the contemporary livery shown in the film until the 21st century.
A brief shot of an aeroplane touching down in Seoul reveals a Japan Airlines A340-300. The four-engined type was not introduced until 1991 and only entered commercial service in 1993. The Japan Airlines livery at that time carried red and blue cheat-lines, which were removed in the 2004 redesign.
The computer printout of the passenger manifest displayed modern fonts in varying styles and sizes, as if produced by an inkjet or laser printer. Neither type of printer was available in 1980. At that time such documents would have been rendered in a single typewriter font and size, bearing the distinctive ribbon-marked appearance typical of telex machines.
