Jesse and Celine make their way to the rear of the train, heading for the dining carriage. As they step into the dining carriage, the train is now travelling in the opposite direction, in reverse.
When the two meet in the railway carriage and begin to converse, the views beyond the carriage windows do not match as the film cuts between Jesse and Celine.
Jesse and Celine are presented as travelling from Budapest to Vienna, yet in the train sequence woodlands and rolling hills are visible outside the carriage for the entire journey. Such scenery does not occur along the rail route between Budapest and Vienna; rather, the surroundings resemble the line west of Vienna, heading towards Salzburg. This implies the film was probably shot in that area.
