Member of a humanitarian mission, Marie Tesse, is appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of France. This position becomes a logical continuation of the career of an active woman who sincerely believes that any situation can be resolved through normal channels. However, on the day of her appointment, an armed Islamic group in Saleh takes five Europeans hostage, including two French citizens. Marie is called upon to conduct complex negotiations with the terrorists in an attempt to free the hostages. But soon it becomes clear that the high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have completely different priorities. Marie quickly realizes that she has entered a world of hypocrisy, where officials are not interested in preserving human life. The official tries to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible, which intensifies day by day. And in order to save lives, Tesse will also have to adjust her own rules of the game.
