The TV series "Captain's Children" is a Russian crime melodrama based on Anna Berseneva's novel "The Grinevs". The name of Emilia Grineva is known worldwide: she was an outstanding literary critic. Her future daughter-in-law Nadya gives tours of the late Emilia's house, while her granddaughter Eva teaches literature at school. Among her students is her younger sister Polina. Meanwhile, a young man named Georgy Turchin travels from Taganrog to Moscow to study. His mother gives him the address of her old friend Nadezhda Grineva in the capital city.
