"American Rust" is a multi-part crime drama based on the eponymous literary bestseller. The series is set in a small American town somewhere in the state of Pennsylvania. The main character is a noble sheriff who maintains order and safety in this place. As events unfold, his lover's son is accused of a brutal murder. The sheriff realizes that he must somehow protect the boy from prison. But what if he is truly guilty of everything that has happened?
