When They Cry: Higurashi (2006 - 2007)

The Japanese animated series "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" tells the story of a mysterious village where horrifying events occur, all connected to an ancient curse. A city boy, unaware of this, moves to Hinamizawa and enrolls in the local school. He quickly befriends his classmates, unaware that many of them are not who they appear to be. Soon, Keiichi learns about the strange murders that shook the area several years ago.
