Jumong (2006 - 2007)

"Jumong" is a South Korean historical drama series about the founder of one of the most powerful ancient Eastern states, Goguryeo. Under his rule, all of Korea and a large part of modern-day China were under his control. The events take place in 108 BCE when the Han Dynasty of China forcefully subjugates the tribes of Manchuria and the northern Korean Peninsula. The leader of the local resistance, Haemosu, falls in love with the beautiful girl, Yu Hwa. However, she becomes Jumong's concubine and secretly gives birth to Haemosu's son, Jumong.
