Ripper Street (2012 - 2016)

"Ripper Street" is a British series about the work of police officers during the era of Queen Victoria. One of its distinguishing features is that some of the events depicted actually happened. The main character is Inspector Edmund Reid, who dreams of cleansing the Whitechapel district of crime. He is aided by his friends Drake, his right-hand man, and Jackson, a retired American surgeon and pathologist. To investigate cases, they enlist the services of Susan, the owner of a brothel.
