For years Marvel devotees have urged that John Krasinski and Emily Blunt be cast as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, pointing out that they are married in real life and already possess strong on-screen chemistry. Krasinski is said to have wanted the Mister Fantastic part after seeing fan art of him and his wife as the characters, but in an interview Blunt stated that Marvel Studios have not approached either of them about Fantastic Four. She also said she isn't particularly keen on superhero films. Fans have similarly campaigned for Zac Efron to take on Johnny Storm/Human Torch. Krasinski did, however, briefly portray Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange în Multiversul Nebuniei (2022).
